(a) whether a large number of live cartridges/weapons have been seized from the foreign nationals
in various airports in the country including Mumbai and Pune during the current year;
(b) if so, the details thereof alongwith the number of accused arrested, nationalitywise;
(c) whether dereliction of security measures by the personnel deployed at the airport has
been reported in this regard; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): No, Madam. However, some empty cartridges were detected from foreign nationals at the airports.
In all such cases, passengers were allowed to go as per norms and the recovered empty cartridges were handed
over to airport police station concerned. Necessary guidelines / instructions to be followed by security
personnel at airports have already been issued in this regard.
