Question : Anti-drone System

(a) whether it is true that India does not have any anti-drone system to counter attacks by drones;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor;
(c) the details of countries which have the best anti-drone systems in the world;
(d) whether the Government has any proposal to acquire anti-drone system to protect our defence bases, defence installations, etc.; and
(e) if so, details thereof along with the efforts being made during the last two years to acquire anti-drone system?

IN THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE


(a) No, Sir. It is not true. India has already developed an indigenous Anti-Drone System. The system is capable of Detection, Tracking, Soft Kill and Hard Kill of enemy Drones.

(b) Not Applicable.

(c) Information indicates that following countries have Anti-Drone capabilities:
• USA, Israel, France, UK and Germany.

(d) & (e) Order for Anti-Drone Systems has been placed by Indian Armed Forces (Navy, Army & Air Force) on M/s BEL based on technology developed by DRDO. DRDO has also transferred the technology for production of these to 04 more private industries.
