(a)& (b): As reported by the State, out of 6,042 works with length of 27,737.01 km sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) since inception of the scheme, 5,819 works with length of 26,104.17 km has been constructed. Further, out of 1,365 habitations sanctioned under PMGSY (250+), 1,297 habitations have been connected and only 68 habitations remain to be connected. Majority of the works measuring length 727.09 km covering 44 habitations are pending in Gadchiroli and Nandurbar primarily because these works are located in remote and difficult areas and forest clearance issues.
(c): As per the Programme Guidelines, the State Governments are responsible for ensuring that lands are available and free from all encumbrances, along the entire proposed alignment, for taking up the proposed road works under PMGSY. The State Government is regularly advised to take up the matter with concerned authorities in the forest department to expedite the issue of forest clearance. In Nundurbar, 209.44 kms were pending due to forest clearance against which NOC for 143.00 kms have been obtained recently and all these works have been tendered.
(d)& (e): No roads and bridges have been sanctioned during 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2018-19. During 2017-18, total 133 No. of roads and 61 No. of bridges under PMGSY have been sanctioned. District-wise details of roads and bridges are as under:
