(a) whether the Union Government is aware of implementation of reservation
policy to Most Backward Class people in the Union Territory of Pondicherry;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Union Government is considering to issue any instruction to the
UT administration for extending reservation in the jobs for MBCs in the
Union Territory; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) &(b) The Government of Union Territory of Pondicherry had sought approval
of the Central Government for providing reservation to Most Backward
Classes and Other Backward Classes notified by them in the ratio of 60:40
in services/employment, admission in educational institutions and for
availing other socio-economic benefits of the schemes being implemented
by them.
(c)&(d) The proposal has not been accepted as there is no concept of Most
Backward Classes amongst the Other Backward Classes in the Central
Government.
