(a) whether the Government have sanctioned Chendipara Open Cast Mine Project in Orissa;
(b) if so, the cost thereof;
(c) the details in regard to the employment potentiality thereof; and
(d) the time by which the project is likely to be completed?

(a) to (d) : Board of Directors of Mahanadi Coalfields
Ltd , under the powers delegated to it , has sanctioned
Chendipara Open Cast Mine Project in Orissa at a capital
cost of Rs. 19.75 crores. As per sanctioned Project
Report , manpower requirement is 220 . The project is
scheduled to be completed by March , 2002.
