Question : Cyber Appellate Tribunal

Will the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology be pleased to state:-

(a) the details of the number of cases that were brought to the notice of the Cyber Appellate Tribunal and the details of the orders passed in the past three years;
(b) whether the Government plans to act upon the Standing Committee’s recommendation that there would be more than one bench of the Tribunal and if so, the details thereof; and
(c) whether the Government has any plan to increase the number of benches for faster disposal of such cases, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): The Cyber Appellate Tribunal was merged with Telecom Dispute Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) through the Finance Act, 2017. Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) has no data related to cases filed and orders passed by TDSAT.

(b) and (c): Do not arise as MeitY has no administrative jurisdiction over TDSAT.
