(a) whether the Government has identified any priority certifications specifically around technology in consultation with the NSDC considering the rise of automation in India in line with National Board for Skills Assessment and Certification; and
(b) if so, the steps taken, if any, by the Government to ensure quality in assessment and certification and also to bring equality in the skill training space?
(a) & (b) A number of Job Roles having technology and automation aspects in sectors like Gems and Jewellery, Rubber, Telecom, Earthmoving & Infrastructure Building, Electronics & Hardware, Food Processing, Iron and Steel, IT/ITes and Life Sciences, have been identified for providing training and placement under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) (2016-20).
A number of measures have been taken by the Government to ensure quality in assessment and certification of skill training. These, inter alia, include- establishment of Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) to oversee quality; authentication and Aadhar validation of the Assessors at the time of log in creation in the SDMS; operationalization of Assessor app to ensure real time upload of data by the Assessors; online generation of QR code enabled certificates via the web based– SDMS; standardized assessment fees for manufacturing and service job roles across various Sectors.
