(a) Under the provisions of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976 an association having a definite cultural, economic, educational, religious or social programme can accept foreign contribution after it registers itself with the Central Government or obtains its prior permission to accept foreign contribution. An organization of a political nature, not being a political party, notified as such by the Central Government, cannot accept foreign contribution except with the prior permission of the Central Government .

(b) The details are contained in the Annual Reports on the `Receipt of Foreign Contribution by Voluntary Associations` brought out by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Foreigners Division). Copies of the Annual Reports upto the year 1998-99 are available in the Parliament Library. The data for the year 1999-2000 is under compilation.
