Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
(DR. MAHENDRA NATH PANDEY)

(a) to (d): There are reports of isolated undesirable incidents from certain institutions in Delhi
and other parts of the country which have been dealt with by the authorities of the institutions
and local administration responsible for Law and Order. Universities have informed that the
academic activities were, however not affected. It is pertinent to mention here that these
autonomous institutions are established under the respective Acts of Parliament and are
competent to take action in the academic and administrative matters of the institutions, including
student’s union activities, with the help of local authorities wherever necessary. However, no
centralised State/UT-wise information is maintained in this regard.
