Question : Bio Diversity Parks

(a) whether the Government proposes to develop Eco-Parks and Bio-Diversity Parks;
(b) if so, whether a proposal for providing financial assistance to develop an Eco-Park in the forest area in front of the World’s first White Tiger Safari at Mukundpur in Satna, Madhya Pradesh (MP) is lying pending with the Government;
(c) whether another proposal regarding developing a Bio-Diversity Park for the conservation of rare varieties and species of flora and fauna found in Narohills forest area in Satna district in MP is also pending with the Government;
(d) if so, the reasons for delay in sanctioning both the aforesaid schemes/projects; and
(e) the time by which both of these projects/schemes are likely to be sanctioned?

(a) to (e) Biodiversity parks, ecological parks etc., are established and developed by the concerned State Governments for protection and conservation of biodiversity. The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change through its various centrally sponsored schemes provides financial assistance to the State Governments including Government of Madhya Pradesh for protection and conservation of forests and biodiversity.

The State Forest Department of Madhya Pradesh has submitted an Annual Plan of Operations (APO) proposal to this Ministry in the month of January 2022 for availing funds under Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) scheme for the financial year 2022-2023 for establishment and development of eco-park and biodiversity park at Narohills of Satna district.
