Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS AND PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS (SHRI O.RAJAGOPAL)

(a): The reservation quota at any particular station for a particular train is allotted taking into account the demand pattern at various stations enroute on the run and also the total availability of reserved accommodation in the train.

(b) to (d): A representation has been received for enhancement of reservation quota at Mainpuri station by 4023 Kalindi Express from 8 berths to 20 berths and attachment of a two tier/ three tier coach. The demands have been examined. The reservation quota has been enhanced from 8 Sleeper Class berths to 10 Sleeper Class berths w.e.f. 08-07- 2001 by this train taking into consideration the utilisation of the existing quota. As regards attachment of additional coach, the request has been examined but the same is not justified on commercial grounds.
