Question : STALLS OF ARTISANS IN EXHIBITIONS



(a) the criteria for selecting the artisans for putting stalls in exhibitions organized by the Government in the country;

(b) the number of artisans benefited from the display/exhibition of their products during each of the last three years and the current year;

(c) whether the Government maintain data on the amount of sales of these beneficiaries;

(d) if so, the details thereof;

(e) whether the Government has a plan to promote/encourage/spread awareness to people from different parts of the country to come and display their arts/products and take benefit from these schemes; and

(f) if so, the details thereof?

(a): The artisans holding valid artisans Identity Cards are selected for participating in various exhibition/melas throughout the country. In case of National Level Melas like Master Creation, Surajkund Mela etc. preference is given to Shilpgurus, National Awardees, National Merit Certificate holders and State Awardees.

(b): The artisan beneficiaries during the last three years and current year i.e. 2014-15 is as below:-

	2011-12	-	41415	2012-13	-	38862	2013-14	-	39653	2014-15	-	9672	(upto	January,	2015) 

(c): Yes, Madam.

(d): Sales of beneficiaries during the last three years and current year i.e. 2014-15 is given below (as collected from the artisans).
	2011-12	-	239.01 crores	2012-13	-	196.11 crores	2013-14	-	309.54 crores	2014-15	-	114.54 crores	(upto	Jan.,	2015) 

(e) & (f): Yes, Madam. The Government has plan to promote/encourage/spread awareness amongst artisans in different parts of the country to display their arts/products and take benefits from these scheme through news paper advertisement and organization of Local level State level and National Level workshops organized from time to time.
