Question : Toll Plazas

(a) the details of the toll tax centres on National Highways in the country State-wise;

(b) whether it is a fact that the toll tax is being recovered even after that the total cost of toll bridges built on National Highways under the scheme of B.O.T. has been recovered; and

(c) if so, the location-wise details of such toll bridges as on date along with measures being taken by the Government in this regard;

(d) whether any complaints has been received against the toll tax concessionaire during the last three years; and

(e) if so, the details thereof along with action taken thereon, State-wise?

(a) A State-wise list of NHAI’s fee plazas on National Highways throughout the country is as Annexure-I.

(b) Yes, Madam. As per fee rules fee is to be collected in perpetuity. However fee shall be levied and collected at a reduced rate of 40% of the fee at the end of concession period in case of private investment project and on recovery of capital cost in case of public funded project.

(c) Does not arise.

(d) & (e) A list of complaints received against the concessionaires of NHAI and action taken during the last three years is at Annexure-II.
