Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (SHRI S. REGUPATHY)

(a) to (c) : The provisions in the Criminal Procedure Code and Prevention of Corruption Act are quite effective in combating corruption and also protecting innocent and honest public servants from false and vexatious allegations. However, the Government undertakes a review of the functioning of the statues, as and when the need arises. Recently the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 was amended through the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Act, 2005. There is presently no proposal to amend the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and the Central Vigilance Commission Act, 2003.
