Question : ADVERTISEMENTS BY STEEL PSUS



(a) the details of the money spent on advertisements by the public sector steel companies during each of the last three years, company-wise;

(b) whether the Government has issued any specific guidelines to the public sector steel companies in this regard; and

(c) if so, the details thereof including the violations, if any, of such guidelines reported?

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF STEEL, MINES AND LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT (SHRI VISHNU DEO SAI)

(a) There are two steel manufacturing Public Sector Undertakings under the Ministry of Steel namely Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL). The details of the expenditure on advertisements by these public sector undertakings is as under;-

(b)&(c): The Government has adopted an Advertisement Policy, which requires Public Sector Undertakings to issue all advertisements directly at Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) rates, as per prescribed policy. No violation of guidelines has been reported.
