(a) the names of the State-owned and Privately-owned insurance companies which have been empanelled as the Implementing Agencies (IA) for the PMFBY;
(b) the total number of State-owned insurance companies in the country which provide agricultural support and insurance to the farmers; and
(c) whether many State-owned insurance companies which are eligible for being IA under the PMFBY, have not yet been empanelled, if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c): All Public Sector General Insurance Companies (4 GIPSA Companies and AIC) and 11 private general insurance companies have been empanelled for implementation of Crop Insurance schemes in the country to increase the coverage of non-loanee farmers and to bring more competition in crop insurance sector so as to provide the best services to farmers at competitive rates.
