(a) & (b) The Odisha State Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (State CAMPA) submitted their Annual Plan of Operation (APO) for the year 2021-22 with a proposed outlay of Rs.903.03 crore to the National Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (National Authority) for approval vide their letter no. 6360/10F(CAMPA))-21/2021 dated 20.03.2021. The APO was discussed in the 11th and 12th meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Authority held on 26.03.2021 and 27.04.2021 respectively and all site-specific activities related to compensatory afforestation, additional compensatory afforestation, penal compensatory afforestation, sensitive zone, wildlife conservation plan and regional wildlife management plan etc. and non-site specific activities related to artificial regeneration, assisted natural regeneration, forest protection, forest fire prevention and control operations, improvement of wildlife habitat, third party monitoring and evaluation, expenses of State Authority etc. amounting to Rs 675.67 crore were approved. These will help timely implementation of the afforestation and forest & wildlife management programmes in the State of Odisha during Financial Year 2021-22.
In the 14th meeting of the Executive Committee held on 22.07.2021, 23.07.2021 and 30.07.2021 remaining non-site activities related to forest protection, wild life management, forest and wildlife related infrastructure development amounting to Rs 190.11 crore were approved.
Additional approval for Rs 35.25 crore for activities related to forest and wildlife related infrastructure development, publicity and awareness programmes, up-gradation of Forest IT, digitization of forest boundaries was issued on 09.11.2021 after the State CAMPA submitted details/justification with regard to these activities vide their letter no. 18063/10F(CAMPA) 21/2021 dated 27.10.2021. Thus, total activities amounting to Rs.901.03 crore included in the APO of the State CAMPA have been approved.
(c) The year-wise and State-wise amount releasedunder National Afforestation Programme of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change to improve the forest cover in the country from 2014-15 to 2021-22 is attached Annexure-I.
