Answer given by the minister

(a) & (b) In the last one year, a total of 1526 new Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) were granted affiliation with National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), out of which 987 new ITIs were affiliated for the session August 2016 while remaining 539 new ITIs have been affiliated for ensuing session commencing from August 2017. There are no pending cases with Directorate General of Training (DGT) for the period stated.

(c) to (e) Affiliation of ITIs is a continuous process and there is no plan to fix timelines for giving clearance to new Private ITIs. However, DGT is in the process of notification of new affiliation norms and Affiliation of ITIs would be in accordance with these new norms, which are going to be implemented from year 2017 onwards.
