(a) to (f): Under the textile sector schemes, proposals relating to the Scheme for Promoting Usage of Agrotextiles, Scheme for Sericulture Development, National Handloom Development Programme, the National Handicrafts Development Programme and Sheep and Wool Improvement Scheme have been received from Government of Maharashtra during the last 3 years. Details of action taken/implementation on the proposals are given as follows:-
i. Scheme for promoting usage of Agrotextiles: Under Scheme for Promoting Usage of Agrotextiles in India (excluding North Eastern States), two proposals were received from Maharashtra State for establishment of Demonstration Centres at KVK Ghatkhed and KVK Durgapur, Amravati District. The Office of Textile Commissioner has approved and established two Demonstration Centres at KVK Ghatkhed& KVK Durgapur, Amravati District at a cost of Rs.23 lakhs (approximately). 40 Agrotextile kits have also been distributed to farmers under the jurisdiction of these Demonstration Centres.
ii. Handloom Sector :For the development of clusters in the State of Maharashtra, five proposals under Block Level Clusters, a component of National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP) have been received in the last three years. All the five block level cluster projects entailing a total project cost of Rs.6.96 crores consisting of a central share of Rs. 6.71 crores have been sanctioned and a sum of Rs. 80.96 lakhs has been released during 2016-17. The duration of implementation of block level clusters is three years from the date of sanction of first installment.
iii. Handicrafts Sector : 8 proposals under Design & Technology Upgradation and 2 proposals under Human Resource Development Scheme of the National Handicrafts Development Programme were received from the State of Maharashtra. These proposals amounting to Rs. 53.26 lakhs and Rs. 9.60 lakhs have been sanctioned.
iv. Sericulture Development : Central Silk Board (CSB) received one proposal from Maharashtra during the last three years seeking financial assistance for Sericulture Development activities. Based on the proposal received from the Department of Sericulture, Govt. of Maharashtra, CSB has provided central share of funds to Maharashtra for Sericulture development activities as per the year-wise details given below:

v. Wool Sector: The Central Wool Development Board (CWDB) received one proposal under the Sheep and Wool Improvement Scheme from Maharashtra during the last three years which was sanctioned. CWDB released a total of Rs. 94 lakhs to Maharashtra Mendhiva Sheli Vikas Mahamandal, Government of Maharashtra, Pune under the Components of ‘Health care’ and ‘Breed Improvement’ of sheep.
