Question : Assistance to NGOs

(a) the details of the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) which received financial assistance under various sports schemes being implemented in Jharkhand;
(b) the details of funds provided to these NGOs along with the utilization status thereof during the last three years and the current year;
(c) the details of NGOs found involved in the alleged irregularities during the said period along with the reaction of the Government thereto; and
(d) the details of the action taken against the NGOs found guilty?

(a) & (b): Under the Scheme of Sports and Games for the Disabled, funds were provided to Government/ NGO Schools/ Institutes on the basis of inspection of the work and performance of such NGOs by State/ UT Commissioners for Disabled Persons. The said grant was released to the organizations for
(i) Sports Coaching in special schools and
(ii) Purchase of Consumable/ Non-consumable Sports Equipment in special schools

Financial assistance released by the Ministry to the NGOs of Jharkhand, under the Scheme of Sports & Games for the disabled, during the year 2014-15 and 2015-16 is as under:

The said Scheme has been discontinued from April, 2016. Hence, no grant was released in 2016-17 & 2017-18.

(c): No such irregularities have come to the notice of the Ministry.

(d): In view of the reply at part (c), the question does not arise.
