Question : TELEPHONE CONNECTIONS IN HARYANA



(a) whether BSNL has not yet provided telephone connections in villages of Sonipat and Gurgaon districts on the basis of connection released by Department of Telecommunications in the month of April, 2002;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor;

(c) whether a number of representations have been received in CGM office at Ambala in this regard; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and by when the connections are likely to be released?

(a) & (b): Sir, out of telephones sanctioned by the Department of Telecommunications in April, 2002 for villages of Gurgaon and Sonipat disctricts on out of turn basis, 10 telephones in Gurgaon and 70 in Sonipat are pending provision at present due to non-availability of underground cables and equipment.

(c) No, Sir.

(d) The pending connections will be provided progressively by March, 2003.
