Question : Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme


(a) the funds provided by the Government to the State of Madhya Pradesh under Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS);

(b) whether the Government has formulated any action plan with regard to providing better employment opportunities for the youth linking this scheme with Make-in-India programme of the Union Government; and

(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a): Under Technology Up-gradation Fund Scheme, state-wise funds are not allocated. However Rs. 841.45 crore has been released to units situated in the State of Madhya Pradesh as on 20.07.2018.

(b) & (c): Yes, Madam. Employment generation and promotion of exports through “Make in India’’ with "Zero effect and Zero defect" is one of the major objectives ofthe Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (ATUFS) implemented during 13.01.2016 to 31.03.2022. Further, in order to incentivize employment generation and production in garmenting sector an additional incentive of 10% is also provided to garmenting units availing Capital Investment Subsidy under ATUFS for installation of benchmarked eligible machinery under the Scheme for Production and Employment Linked Support for Garmenting Units (SPELSGU) implemented during 13.01.2016 to 31.03.2019. The additional subsidy is subject to achieving the target of production and employment equal to or more than that of the projection given in the Detailed Project Report (DPR) by the Unit.
