(a) whether it is true that nearly 40% of Gramin Dak Sevak posts are lying vacant in Telangana out of the total 8,200 employed;
(b) if so, the details of vacancies, district-wise;
(c) the time since when these posts are lying vacant and the steps taken by the Government to fill in all the vacancies?

(a) No Sir. Sanctioned strength of all approved categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) of Telangana is 9,991. Only 1651GDS posts are lying vacant.The percentage of vacancies is 16.5%.
(b) The details of vacancies, district-wise, is furnished in the Annexure.
(c) The details of the time since when these posts are lying vacant is furnished in Annexure. Engagement of GDS is a continuous process. Out of 1651 vacant posts of GDS, 733 posts have been notified on 27.01.2021.
