(a) the present status of request from the Government of Andhra Pradesh to consider for delegating the powers of issuing clearance/sanction under various laws and regulations to the management of ICICI Knowledge Park and Biotech Park in the State; and
(b) the time by which it is likely to be cleared ?

(a) & (b) : The state government of Andhra Pradesh has been informed that the necessary assistance for
clearances and approvals for the projects of ICICI knowldege Park and Biotech Park in the state; and
Biotechnology products and processes would be rendered by the Department of Biotechnology. The powers for
various clearances/sanctions are beyond delegation because they fall under the purview of different
Ministries/Departments. However, through an effective coordination mechanism, the same would be achieved. No
formal request for any clearance of a product or material has so far been received.
