Question : FREQUENCY OF BANGALORE-PATNA EXPRESS



(a) whether the frequency of Bangalore- Patna express has been changed from tri-weekly to six days a week;

(b) if so, whether the Railways are considering to make this express train a daily train in view of persistent and increasing demand in this regard; and

(c) if so, the response of the Railways thereto?

(a): In the Rail Budget 2007-08, it has been announced to increase the frequency of Patna - Bangalore Sanghamitra Express from 2 days a week to 6 days a week during the year 2007-08.

(b) & (c): 2557/2558 Darbhanga- Bangalore Express (weekly) is already running on the path of the Patna - Bangalore Sanghamitra Express on the remaining day between Patna and Bangalore, thus resulting in a daily service for the passengers desirous of traveling between Patna and Bangalore.
