Question : AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH



(a) the details of the measures taken by the Government to promote agricultural research in various parts of the country;

(b) the total amount being spent by the Government on agricultural research at present;

(c) whether the agro research work has not been commensurate with the amount of funds spent in this regard; and

(a) Plan outlays on R&D in Agriculture have increased significantly over the Plan periods as given below:-

RE – Revised Estimate, BE – Budget Estimate

(b) In the current financial year, the plan allocation for R&D in agriculture is Rs.2800 crores.

(c) No, Madam, the targeted research work has been accomplished on priority basis within the allocated budget.
