(a): Three Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under the administrative control of Ministry
of Mines namely National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL)
and Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited (MECL) have spent funds from their own resources
for undertaking work under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme for the
peripheral development of the area.
(b): The details of expenditure incurred by the Public Sector Undertakings under the administrative control of Ministry of Mines during the last three years under the CSR
programme is given below: -

(c): NALCO has spent funds for construction and development of rural roads, developmen
t of primary health centers, health camps and mobile health care service etc. HCL has
ndertaken work pertaining to health checkups through mobile medical units, village health
committees and health groups, water recharge programme / practices and plantations etc. MECL
has organised awareness programme / seminars for prevention of HIV / AIDS, dug tube well
for drinking water facility to the villagers in Jharkhand and donated funds for the disabled.
(d): No, Sir. The Government of Orissa has constituted two Rehabilitation and
Peripheral Development Advisory Committees which finalises the annual peripheral
development activities of NALCO. Similarly, HCL has adopted five villages in the vicinity
of project sites for CSR activities.
(e): Does not arise in view of (d) above.
