Question : RECRUITMENT OF EMPLOYEES IN BPCL



(a) the total number of officers and employees working in Bharat Petroleum Limited at national level alongwith the number of officers and employees belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and OBCs ;

(b) whether all the reserved posts have been filled ;

(c) if so, the total number of appointments made during the last three years alongwith the number of people appinted from Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and OBCs;

(d) whether there is still a backlog in reserved posts ; and

(e) if so, the time by which these reserved posts are likely to be filled up?

(i) The total number of officers (management staff) and other employees working in Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) at national level along with the number of officers and employees belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Castes (OBCs) are as follows (as on 1.10.2009) :-

(iii) All the reserved posts for SCs and STs have been filled up. However, there is a backlog of reserved posts for OBCs and the same is likely to be filled up by February, 2010. A special recruitment drive is underway for filling the backlog vacancies for OBCs.
