(a) the number of speed post centres operating in various States including Gujarat as on date, State/UTwise;
(b) whether the Government proposes to set up more such centers across the States including Gujarat;
(c) if so, the State-wise details thereof as on date and the steps taken by the Government in this regard; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) The facility of booking of a Speed Post article is available from all Post Offices across the country. Speed Post Centres have now been rechristened as National Sorting Hubs (NSHs) or Intra Circle Hubs (ICHs). As on date there are 92 NSHs and 150 ICHs in the country. The State/UT wise details including Gujarat are at Annexure.
(b) As of now there is no proposal for setting up of more National Sorting Hubs and Intra Circle Hubs (ICHs) under consideration including Gujarat.
(c) Question does not arise in view of (b) above.
(d) The network of NSH & ICH has been set up across the country keeping in view the operational requirements. There are, at present, no such requirement to set up more NSH & ICH centres.
