Question : Development and Expansion of Roads in Telangana

(a) whether the Ministry has given acceptance for construction of National Highways (NHs) in the State of Telangana, if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether the Ministry has decided to release necessary funds for development and expansion of roads in the State, if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the details of the funds released so far?

(a) Yes, Madam. Annual Plan for development of National Highways amounting to Rs. 2749.50 crore has been approved for the year 2016-17 and two nos. of works of 106 km are mandated for development under NHDP Phase -IV in the State of Telangana.

(b) and (c) The allocation and expenditure during 2016-17 for development and expansion of National Highways and other State Roads under Central Road Fund (CRF) in Telangana are as under:-

In addition, work of four laning of Yadgiri-Warangal of NH 163 (New NH 202) with total capital cost of Rs. 1905.23 cr. has also been awarded by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the cumulative expenditure is Rs. 481.89 cr. so far on this project.
