Question : SPORTS ACADEMY

(a) whether the Government has any proposal to establish National Sports Institute/Sports Academy in every State/Union Territory;

(b) if so, the details thereof including the facilities and the financial assistance provided in this regard; and

(c) the number of National sports Institutes/sports academies proposed to be setup during the current year along with the funds allocated/sanctioned for the purpose State/UT-wise including Kerala and Maharashtra?

(a) Yes Madam. The Government has a proposal to set up National Sports Academies and Junior Sports Academies in different States/UTs in the country.

(b) & (c) The proposal is at a conceptual stage and hence it is not possible to furnish further details in this regard.
