(a) whether Delhi Police has launched the community policing system in certain crime prone areas of Delhi;
(b) if so, the details in this regard;
(c) the areas covered/proposed to be covered under the scheme;
(d) whether this scheme has ever tried earlier in Delhi or in the country; and

(a) to (e): Yes, Sir. However, the scheme covers the entire National Capital Territory and is aimed at promoting the interface of the police with members of the public so as to secure their cooperation in the prevention and control of crime. This Scheme, in its present form, has been launched for the first time in Delhi and has helped in bridging the gap between the police and the public.
