(a) whether the Government has taken note of the rise in the prices of commodities not covered under the Essential Commodities Act and if so, the details thereof and the response of the Government thereto;

(b) whether the Government has established any price control mechanism to check the prices of the said commodities; and

(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c) The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) is the official indicator of the price trends of commodities including those not covered under the Essential Commodities Act. The WPI released on a monthly basis is monitored and appropriate measures for price control taken by the government as and when required.
