Question : PROJECT TIGER ELEPHANT



(a) the list of various projects running in the country like Project Tiger and Project Elephant;

(b) the allocation of funds has been made on said projects during the last three years and the current year, project-wise;

(c) whether the Government proposes to implement schemes like sharing profits generated from the tourism parks with community trusts in order to increase community participation in saving tigers;

(d) if so, the details thereof;

(e) if not, the reasons therefor; and

(f) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) The list of Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Forests for wildlife conservation is at Annexure-I.

(b) The allocation of funds made under the Centrally Sponsored Schemes of Project Tiger, Project Elephant and Integrated Development of Wildlife Habitats, during the last three years and current year, are at Annexures-II, III and IV respectively.

(c), (d), (e) & (f) The Government of India has constituted a Committee for finalizing the guidelines relating to forest and wildlife ecotourism.
