ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND
FAMILY WELFARE
(SMT. ANUPRIYA PATEL)
(a): The data is not maintained centrally. As per the Minimum Standard Requirements Regulations of MCI, the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) is an optional Department for Medical Colleges.

(b): The MCI UG curriculum has set standards of teaching in PMR necessary for a medical graduate to learn various aspects of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation including disability, its causes and magnitude, identification and prevention of disability, the rights and entitlements of differently-abled persons, the clinical features, evaluation, diagnosis and management of disability following traumatic brain injury etc. which every graduate student should be taught. PMR is a mandatory subject in the revised curriculum of MBBS course.

(c): There is no such proposal.
