(a) to (d): Government of India has launched a program named PMGSY-II during the year 2013-14
to consolidate the existing rural road network to improve its overall efficiency as a provider
of transportation services for people, goods and services. PMGSY-II focuses on the roads
constructed/ upgraded under PMGSY-I. eligible Through Routes`Link Routes under PMGSY-I but not
yet sanctioned and freshly identified Through Routes/ Link Routes in revised District Rural
Roads Plans (DRRPs) to be upgraded from existing carriageway width upto 5.5 meters carriageway
width depending upon traffic volume and growth centre potential. It is proposed to cover
overall 50,000 km road length by upgradation under PMGSY-II programme at an estimated cost
of Rs.33,030 crore (at 2012-13 prices). The cost will be shared between the Centre and the
States/UTs on 75:25 basis for the Plain Areas and 90:10 basis for the Special Areas.
The proposals for upgradation, received from various States and accorded clearance, including
Uttar Pradesh under PMGSY-II for the year 2013-14 are as under:
