MINISTER OF STATISTICS AND PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION (SHRI D. V. SADANANDA GOWDA)

(a) to (c): The Collection of Statistics Act, 2008 is an enabling legislation, which facilitates collection of statistics from time to time by any Ministry or Department in the Central Government or any Ministry or Department in a State Government or Union territory Administration or any local government (Panchayats or Municipalities). There is no provision in the Act for setting up any mechanism for implementation.
