(a) whether there is an acute shortage of airerafts in the aviation sector;
(b) if so, whether the Government has received any proposal from domestic airlines seeking permission for purchasing new airerafts;
(c) if so, the details and the status thereof along with the funds earmarked for this purpose; and
(d) the employment opportunities likely to open up in the aviation sector as a result thereof?

(b) & (c) Scheduled private airlines apply for in principle approval for import of aircraft, followed by firm approval from Directorate Genera! of Civil Aviation, as per their requirement and commercial viability from their own
(d) Expansion of air services and induction of aircraft will certainly increase employment opportunities in aviation sector.
