(a) whether a four lane express way is being built in the middle of
Maduranthagam town in Tamil Nadu;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether people of Maduranthagam have demanded a slight modification
in the laying of the proposed express way; and
(d) if so, the reaction of the Government thereto?

(a) No, Sir. The bypass to Maduranthagam town is being four laned.
(b) Does not arise.
(c)&(d) A trumpet interchange is being constructed at km. 80/500 at
the beginning of Maduranthagam bypass to facilitate safe entry to and
from Maduranthagam Town to NH 45. One representation from residents was
received to construct underpass in place of trumpet interchange which
was not agreed to for safety reasons.
