(a) whether any proposal regarding construction of new railway lines in Uttar Pradesh is pending with the Government;

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (c) OF THE UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 3141 BY KUNWAR MANVENDRA SINGH TO BE ANSWERED IN LOK SABHA ON 11.05.2006 REGARDING CONSTRUCTION OF RAILWAY LINES IN UTTAR PRADESH.

(a) & (b): The details of ongoing new line surveys falling partly/fully in Uttar Pradesh are given as under:-

1. Aligarh - Chatta (65 kms.)
2. Barhaj Bazar to Faijabad via Dohrighat (190 kms.)
3. Nepalganj Road (India) to Nepalganj (Nepal) (10 kms.)
4. Khurja - Raya via Mat, Surir, Bajna (85 kms.)
5. Sambhal - Gajraula (43 kms.)
6. Rewa - Mirzapur (17.5 lcms.)

Besides the above, following surveys for new lines have been completed during 2005-06:
