THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (SHRI JYOTIRADITYA M. SCINDIA)

(a) & (b) Indian exports to EU are made under EU’s non discriminatory standards and non tariff regulations which are applicable to all countries. Industry requests regarding EU regulations are regularly taken up in the meetings of India-EU Sub Commission on Trade, India-EU Joint Commission Meetings and also during negotiations for India-EU Bilateral Trade and Investment Agreement.

(c) & (d) Yes Madam, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has conducted a survey on India-EU trade relations which indicates that Indian exporters face problems due to subsidies given by EU. The Doha Development of trade talks at the World Trade Organisation (WTO) is in progress. In agriculture negotiations, India has been working closely with other developing countries to ensure substantial and effective reductions in farm subsidies and tariffs for enhanced market access, while enabling developing countries to protect and promote the interests of their low income and resource poor farmers.
