Question : PETROL PUMPS ALLOTMENT TO MARINE FISHERIES SOCIETIES



(a) the details of petrol pumps allotted to marine fisheries cooperative societies;

(b) whether the small and traditional fishing communities purchase diesel from the said petrol pumps for their fishing boats and if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether these fishermen are purchasing diesel at bulk rates;

(d) if so, the reasons therefor; and

(e) the steps taken to protect the interest of poor fishermen by providing them diesel at the normal rates?

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM & NATURAL GAS (SHRI DHARMENDRA PRADHAN)

(a) Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have informed that they provide Consumer Pumps consisting of storage and dispensing facilities for diesel to Fisheries Cooperatives on their request. Lists of the Consumer Pumps of IOCL, BPCL and HPCL are at Annexure-I, Annexure-ll and Annexure-lll respectively.

(b) Fisheries Cooperative Societies supply diesel to their members.

(c) (d) and (e) - With effect from the midnight of 18/19.10.2014, price of diesel is market determined and is the same for bulk and retail customers.
