Question : EXPORT INCENTIVES



(a) whether the Government is considering to restore the export incentives under the Focus Market Scheme given to cotton and cotton yarn exporters;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether it is also a fact that textile exports should be encouraged to deal with the issue of current account deficit; and

(d) if so, the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a): No Madam.

(b): Does not arise.

(c) & (d): The textile exports constitute 12% of the total exports from India. Textile export is being encouraged by the Government to deal with the issue of current account deficit. Therefore, Government has announced benefits for the textiles under various schemes like Focus Product Scheme, Focus Market Scheme, Market Linked Focus Product Scheme, Incremental Exports Incentivisation Scheme etc.
