(a) & (b): Under the provisions of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, both Central and State
Governments are appropriate Governments to notify any employment in the schedule where the
number of employees is 1000 or more and fix the rates of minimum wages in respect of the
employees employed therein under their respective jurisdictions.
âEmployment of workers employed in sheltered and supported work environmentsâ has
not been notified as a Scheduled Employment under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 either in the
Central Sphere or State sphere. Further, we have also not received any request for inclusion
of this employment in the Central sphere.
