THE MINISTER OF CIVIL AVIATION (SHRI SHARAD YADAV)
(a),(b) and (c): Indian Airlines had executed a Letter of
Intent for dry lease of five Boeing 737-200 aircraft with
M/s. GIAL. As per the lease contract signed in December
2000, deliveries of these aircraft were to commence in
3rd/4th week of December, 2000. Inspite of continuous
follow-up, M/s. GIAL have failed to deliver any aircraft
due to problems at their end. There are inbuilt penal
clauses in the contract to take care of non-fulfillment of
conditionalities including delayed delivery of aircraft by
the Lessor.
