(a): Public Health being a State subject, setting up of AYUSH advanced centres comes under purview of respective State/UT Governments. However, under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM), there is provision of financial assistance for setting up of upto 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals in the States/UTs where people can avail benefit from AYUSH systems of medicine. The details of setting up of upto 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals approved by Central Government in the States/UTs are furnished at Annexure-I.
(b): Under Central Sector Scheme of Conservation, Development and Sustainable Management of Medicinal Plants, Central Government is providing project based support to develop different types of Herbal Gardens viz. Home Herbal Garden, School Herbal Garden, Institutional Herbal Garden and Herbal Garden of State and National Importance. However, Central Government has no plan to initiate Ayurvedic herbal garden in every school.
(c): Under Central Sector Scheme for Promotion of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) in AYUSH, the Ministry takes up initiatives for propagation, promotion and awareness of AYUSH systems of medicine by organizing Arogya Fairs, Yoga Fests, Ayurveda Parvs, Conferences, Exhibitions, Seminars, Workshops, Symposium, and celebration of important days viz. International Day of Yoga, Ayurveda Day, Unani Day, Siddha Day, Naturopathy Day and Homoeopathy Day and also undertaking publicity activities through electronic media, print media and social media amongst the citizens all over the country.
(d) & (e): The details of the Grant-in-aid sanctioned to AYUSH manufacturing drug industries under the National AYUSH Mission during the last four year is enclosed at Annexure-II. The AYUSH drug companies has continuous growth in export over import as related to AYUSH products has been observed during last ten years that signify the continuous increasing interest in AYUSH system of medicines in the country and abroad.
During 2017-18, percentage share of AYUSH products in the total trade of India is 0.19% compared to 0.20% in 2016-17. Similarly, AYUSH products shared 0.42% of Export and 0.04% of import of India in 2017-18 compared to 0.42% of export and 0.04% of import in India during 2016-17 respectively.
