Question : Expressways in Andhra Pradesh

(a) whether it is true that the Government of Andhra Pradesh has prepared an estimation for Expressway between Anantapur and the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati, and the same has been submitted to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether it is also true that NHAI has also allotted National Highway numbers to Anantapur- Amaravati and Kurnool-Dorna highways; and

(c) the time by which the work is likely to be started and completed?

(a) No Madam.

(b) Anantapuram-Amaravathi Expressway is not a National Highway. Kurnool to Dornala stretch has been declared as National Highway No. 340C. Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this stretch is being prepared by NHAI.

(c) It is too early to indicate the likely time by which the construction work will be started and completed.
