Question : PRESERVATION OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL INSCRIPTION

(a) whether the Government has launched new scheme for the preservation of archaeological inscriptions in the country, especially in Maharashtra; and

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(a)&(b) No, Sir. Archaeological inscriptions engraved on stone or on painted surfaces in centrally protected monuments in different parts of the country including Maharashtra are scientifically conserved and preserved in situ, as per Archaeological norms. Further no special scheme has been launched by the Central Government for this purpose.
