(a) whether the Government propose to distribute the foodgrain items at very low prices in the earthquake affected areas of Gujarat;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the time by which the foodgrains are likely to be distributed and the details of agency involved in the distribution?

(a),(b) & (c) : The Government of India has allotted a quantity of 80,000 tonnes of wheat
and 20,000 tonnes of rice to the Government of Gujarat for distribution in the earthquake
affected areas with validity period for lifting the allotted foodgrains upto 31.3.2001.
Food Corporation of India has been asked to release the foodgrains to the State Government
or their nominees, without payment.
