(a) whether a proposal of the State Government of Gujarat for deployment of four Marine Indian Reserve Battalions in order to protect 1640 km. of coastal line which has vulnerable areas/installation around and near the land/creek border areas of the State bordering the hostile neighbour country is pending approval of the Government; and
(b) if so, the present status and the time by which the proposal is likely to be finalized?
